Customers like the log splitting tool. It's solidly made and efficient for splitting larger logs that an axe cannot do. They say it splits knot-tight logs well, needs a sledge hammer blow rather than a lump hammer, and splits around a ton of wood and still in a good condition. The log cracks and then watch as it splits.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2019This is a great compromise between a powered splitter which would cost into 100s, and an axe-type, which is likely to get stuck in the log, this would mean you'd have to swing the axe and log together to finish the job, which is hazardous. This item takes a bit of work to split larger logs, I've successfully split logs about 30cm across. Most powered splitters wouldn't accept such wide logs. Once this is embedded in the log (usually achieved in 1-2 belts with a sledge hammer) you have your hands free to hold the log and belt it with the hammer until it splits the log. Good reliable log splitter and cheep to buy. Works well.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 November 2020I received a cool looking blu log bomb. I used a lump hammer not a sledge hammer and split 5 logs that I had ‘found’ near come cleared woodland last night. The logs were about 10” long and varying diameter of about 6 to 10”.
The log bomb split them no problem. Just like it up in the middle of the log and tap it into place and then a few are whacks and the log splits in two. Super easy to use.
I did however feel bits of metal hitting my face when I struck the log bomb so will be safety google / snorkelling mask when I spit the nicest lot of logs I’m going to go out and find later this evening.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 July 2022I have used it to split quite a lot of semi seasoned logs up to 300mm with a sledge. It does split them fine but the majority split in 2 rather than 4 section was hoping that it would split into 3-4 sections each time. Works on fresh cut too but takes a few more hits so not as efficient. If you don't have a lot to do then this is worth it. For big loads the more expensive log splitter would be what you need.

I will try another brand And maybe pay a bit more, as the saying goes you get what you pay for and cheap isn’t always best

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2013Really splits logs quickly and easily. Quite heavy and solidly made, you'd have to be superman to break it. The best technique I found was to bash the pointy end into the centre of the log with a club hammer and then follow up (if you still need to) with a sledgehammer. 'Elf & safety' would recommend that you still wear plastic eye protectors just in case of the million-to-one-chance that a bit of it splinters and breaks off when you strike it, the 'law of sod' of course decrees that it would head towards your eyes. Happy log bombing!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 January 2024Purchased one last year. They are fantastic in theory and do split logs like an absolute dream. Last years broke. I thought it was my husband being heavy handed so bought one myself.
Used it twice and the same thing happened again. Awaiting company to respond. Not able to contact the company via amazon. It goes to another site. Not looking promising.
Very unimpressed. Personally wouldn't purchase one if you'd like it to work!

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 August 2020Nice addition to make the job of splitting logs so much easier! Made short work of recently felled trees were and axe wasn’t achieving much! A few knocks to get the bomb stabilised followed by half a dozen with a sledge hammer and you’ve perfectly split logs.
Product is sturdy and well made for the cheap price. No complaints and wouldn’t hesitate to buy again!

5.0 out of 5 stars BUEN ASTILLADOR
La cuña funciona correctamente incluso con troncos de pino de 20 cm de diámetro. Resiste sin soltar esquirlas ante fuertes golpes de maza. Hasta el momento no se ha doblado ni un milímetro.

5.0 out of 5 stars Molto bene ed efficace
Soddisfatto dell'acquisto.

5.0 out of 5 stars Macht seinen Job sehr gut ................
Empfehlenswert. Preis-Leistung passt.
