Why you definitely shouldn’t listen to me…

  • You’ll end up knee deep in sawdust (or more likely just regular dust)…
  • You’ll spend a fortune on tools after spending hours watching YouTube videos about tools you didn’t even know existed…
  • You’ll spend an unhealthy amount of time in your shed (or workshop if you’re little bit posh)…
  • You’ll never have any spare time, so you can forget about all your other hobbies…

On the upside though, you will get…

  • An amazing home full of all those things you dreamt about…
  • An awesome sense of achievement because you did it all yourself…
  • A hero complex, because you did it all with your own tools (apart from when the neighbour lent you that thingamajig, which didn’t count because they are, well, your neighbours and that’s what neighbours are for)…
  • Loads of envious friends when you throw fabulous parties and exclaim, it’s all my own work darlings…
  • A super fit and toned body from all that manual labour, (err… your mileage might vary a bit on this one)…

Seriously though, you’ll love it.

All of it. Fixing broken things, re-purposing things from scrap, building new stuff from scratch, and yes, even maintaining stuff. It’s all good, it’s all rewarding, and best of all, it’s easy to learn…

Let me show you how to…

  • Learn ‘just enough’ to get the job done…
  • Save money using your own head, hands, and heart…
  • Create something wonderful…
  • Fix something you treasure…
  • Maintain something you want to keep forever…
  • Build something just for fun…

Who the heck-a-doodle am I?

Ian Anderson (that’s me, in the third person no less…) is an award-winning professional builder, carpenter, handyman, and humanitarian. He is a Licentiate member of the City & Guilds Institute of London and holds a MSc degree in Trauma & Disaster Management (and no, that’s not for when it all goes horribly wrong…).

He also likes making stuff out of wood taken from old pallets, and old cars, and chickens, oh and he’s a bit of a curry monster 😉

See you inside
